I've been a bit slack in posting any photos from a visit to Perth at the end of last year. So here are some photos.
I spent plenty of time at Perth Airport. They get a few airlines and aircraft that we don't see very often in Adelaide. One of the first I saw was the latest aquisition by Qantas, the A321NEO XLR VH-OGC. They also get regular qantas A330 and Boeing 787 services. This A330 had lost a winglet at some point. Thankfully not a safety issue, but it will impact fuel economy. Both special livery 787's were seen on the direct Perth to London and Perth to Paris flights.
Perth has a lot of airlines that service "Fly In/Fly Out" mine sites. QantasLink use a mix of Fokker 100 And A320/A319s, Virgin have just introduced Embraer 190-E2s, National Jet Express with more Embraers, Skippers using DHC-8s, MinResAir using A320/319s Maroomba with DHC-8s and AerLink using ATR42/72s
Emirates fly A380s every day and i saw some of their special liveries while I was there.
Air Mauritius fly four times a week with their A330NEOs
Being so close to Asia there are many asian carriers here, including Trans Nusa, Scoot, VietJet and Philippine Airlines.
Perth is also the only airport in Australia that has a scheduled A340 service. South African Airways fly five times per week.
I also paid a visit to Jandakot, Perth's general aviation airport. The Police Air Wing and RFDS are based here along with many firefighting units and spotter aircraft.
It is also used for both aeroplane and helicopter flight training and aerial survey work.
